James Toseland and Tourmoto work with charity
23 May 2009
When planning the business launch, the Tourmoto team believed it was vital to fulfil the company's mission from the start: to give experiences to remember.
So what did they do? Tourmoto held a charity concert for Riders for Health at Derby Assembly Rooms, headlined two-times World Superbike champion James Toseland and his band CRASH. This was no ordinary concert, however.
Seven VIPs, who took part in an auction, won the exclusive opportunity to spend the day with the band. Arriving early to drink champagne and chat to JT, the VIPs were first taken on stage during soundcheck to try the rockstar lifestyle for themselves. Paul Grant-Reason, Warren Odell and Gavin Hall of CRASH then took the stage for full soundcheck filmed by the local BBC News TV crew, who also interviewed James about his MotoGP season so far.
In the early evening, James, Paul, Warren and Gavin attended an outdoor signing session with CMC Yamaha. The band were greeted with a huge cheer as they were led into the Market Place by Tourmoto promo girls. After meeting and greeting fans, they were whisked away to the pre-show dinner with 60 guests, as well as the VIPs. The lucky VIPs dined with the band members, and birthday girl Marie even got a special chorus of "Happy Birthday" from James and Paul.
This was all before the concert began...
